Study of gender stereotypes of students (both girls and boys) of the selected basic schools

The thesis is aimed at finding if the ninth-year students (both girls and boys) of selected basic schools have been affected by gender stereotypes, and if the gender stereotypes approach their ideas, perception and decision making. Besides gender concept, the theoretical part also includes chapters related to gender theories, attitudes, gender stereotypes, equal opportunities for men and women in occupation, and the role of men and women in a family. The central chapter deals with topics of gender and education. The practical part of the thesis is focused on determining students'attitudes towards gender area. Using questionnaire inquiry, the author has got data from 204 students (both girls and boys). The obtained data were faced with finding from the relevant literature.

Solving gender segregation in science and research institutions holding HR Excellence in Research Award

Gender segregation in science is a persistent problem. The aim of the thesis is to find out if the HR Excellence in Research Award is a tool which can help in diminution of gender segregation in that institution which get this award. The certificate is granted by European Commission and for the institution it should mean that human resource management in their workplace is on the good level. One of the points that has to be fulfilled by institution is gender equality. The outcomes of the interviews and action plans analysis show that even for this kind of institution is gender segregation an issue. However, the HR Excellence in Research Award definitely raised the awareness of the problem in the Czech science environment. The case study shows that before the award itself, only general antidiscrimination legislation without targeted support of women has existed. This situation has changed in the most of cases and the institutions has the effort to improve it with by using the specific measures. Theoretical support of the thesis is the categorization of the political instruments by Ch. Hood, gender instruments which are used on the level of European Union and Czech Republic and the process of implementation of these tools. Gender roles in Army of Czech republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is gender role in Czech Army. It is divided to theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part is based on professional literature, where it deals with concepts of gender on basic psychological level, gender roles, gender identity and its theory and gender stereotypes. It deals with equality of men and women in European Union and Czech Republic. It also describes gender discrimination. In the endof theoreical part, it deals with equality of men and women in Czech Army. Practical part is made by qualitatively oriented investigation, which is based on comprehensive interviews with military personal, which brings insight to problematice of gender role and also situation of men and women of Czech Army.

Prohibition of discrimination on grounds of gender in employment

The topic of the presented thesis is the legal regulation of equal treatment of men and women and prohibition of discrimination on grounds of sex (gender) primarily in labour law relations and to a certain extent also in some areas of social security law. The main objective of this paper was to create a quite comprehensive but not too theoretical study on the above-mentioned theme which would be focused on the respective enactment both in the legal order of the Czech Republic and in the law of the EU and in several documents of international law. Before starting the actual construction about the relevant legal regulation the thesis deals with the presentation of some fundamental issues connected with the subject, first of all the explication of the concept of equality and various ways it can be approached, the major demonstrations of unequal opportunities of men and women on the labour market and the historical evolution of women's status in society. Further on the paper focuses on the explanation of the complicated concept of discrimination and its particular forms (above all on the distinction between direct and indirect discrimination) which are being analysed making use of the respective case law of the Court of Justice of the EU. Analysis of women support in sport management and sport leadership in Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with positions of women in managing and control functions in sports industry in the Czech Republic. The aim is to find the reasons for women not to take such positions. The research set includes 150 women participating in the ?European Week of Sport and Relaxation for Women? and the 1st national seminar Women's International Leadership Development (WILD) in July 2011 in Hluboká nad Vltavou. The investigation is performed on the basis of questionnaires. The participants are from the whole Czech Republic. Based on processed results we can come to a conclusion that sport associations and sport practice in performance and top-performance sport should organise seminars related to managing positions in sports field in the Czech Republic. The conclusions also indicate that men have more time and that is why they win more recognition in managing functions.
Problems of Unemployment in the Czech Republic and Germany from Gender Point of View

The diploma thesis deals with problems of employment and unemployment policy from the special point of view: the use of equal opportunity of men and women (gender equality) in the Czech Republic, Germany and the European Union. The theoretical part describes employment, unemployment, promotion of women and men at employment market from the gender point of view, and discriminatory differences in the field of financial evaluation of men and women for the same amount and kind of work. The practical part gives the comparison of the employment policy from the gender perspective (rate of employment and unemployment of men and women) on the basis of statistical information of the member states of the European Union {--} the Czech Republic and Germany. The main goal of this work is to show and emphasize the fact, that some aspects of discrimination in the field of gender relationships at work and in private life still exist even in the present modern society. It depends on all of us mainly, in which way and direction these problems of gender equality will develop in the society in future.
